Ryan: “Chris Evans Has a Very Powerful Ass”

At a press conference for ‘Deadpool‘ last week, Ryan was asked “Who’s got the better butt, Deadpool or Captain America?” to which he answered “Chris Evans—he’s Captain America, he has a very powerful ass.” But not before saying, “My mom is listening to this.” (Oh Ryan..) ‘Deadpool’ and HyunA

Earlier today, Ryan posted on instagram a picture of himself hugging a picture of K-Pop star, HyunA, who appears to be hugging Deadpool. It turns out, it was in response to HyunA’s photoshoot for Korean fashion magazine ‘High Cut’ with Deadpool as part of the movie’s marketing campaign in South Korea. Gotta love this publicity stunt :)

This happened… and I don't regret it for a second. 사랑 @hyunah_aa

In the latest snippet, released to Twitter, much of footage repeated, all of which is seemingly unremarkable except for one quick shot of the X-Men’s Blackbird.

Box Office: “Deadpool” Tracking for $55M-Plus Debut

The Hollywood Reporter estimated “Deadpool” to be on course for a $55 million-plus debut next month. The Fox and Marvel film came on tracking Thursday, three weeks before it opens over the long Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day weekend. Deadpool rolls out Feb. 12 opposite comedies Zoolander 2 and How to Be Single.

Those with access to prerelease services say the scores are strong for Deadpool among both males and females (as of now, it is the first choice among females). One service even has Deadpool crossing $60 million, and that’s before Fox makes its major marketing push.

The four-day Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day weekend has become a lucrative frame for moviegoing. Last year, Fifty Shades of Grey debuted to a dazzling $93 million while Kingsman: The Secret Service launched to $41.8 million over the four days.

Tracking shows Paramount’s Zoolander 2, directed by and starring Ben Stiller opposite Owen Wilson, looking to gross north of $20 million, but those estimates could easily see an uptick in the coming days. That would place the comedy ahead of New Line’s How to Be Single, a female-skewing rom-com starring Fifty Shades star Dakota Johnson, Rebel Wilson, Alison Brie and Leslie Mann.

Ryan wows fans as “Deadpool” in Taiwan

Ryan wows fans as “Deadpool” in Taiwan

Ryan is making the rounds with the world premiere of “Deadpool” and before the movie premiere in Taiwan, Ryan impressed fans with his knowledge of Chinese culture and a limited Chinese vocabulary. I don’t speak Chinese but thankfully Focus Taiwan did the translation for us and wrote a report on his friendly approach to fans in his social network. There is also a clip of his airport arrival at the end of this post if you’d like to take a look (of course you do!).

If Ryan Reynolds’ reception in Taiwan is anything to go by, bantering with fans works, especially if it is done in the local language. The Canadian movie star arrived in Taiwan Wednesday to promote his latest movie, “Deadpool.”

Taking several steps further than other Hollywood stars who try to greet local fans in Chinese when in Taiwan, Reynolds showed his knowledge of some the latest news events in the country, much to the pleasant surprise of the locals.

In a Facebook post, Reynolds announced jokingly — in Chinese — that he wants to apply to become the lead singer of ChthoniC, Taiwan’s best-known death metal band. On Jan. 16, the band’s lead vocalist, Freddy Lim (林昶佐), won a seat in the legislative elections to become a member of Taiwan’s next Legislative Yuan. In response to news about the Reynolds post, band leader and bass player Doris Yeh reportedly said: “We can only hire him.”

In another post in Chinese, Reynolds played on the Chinese character “菜, tsai,” which means poor-quality, saying: “Fans in Taiwan, I’m your cup of tea even though I speak poor Chinese (菜中文, tsai zhong wen).” The pun was not lost on the Taiwanese, who sometimes make fun of the name of President-elect Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文). The three characters of her name sound like “poor English,” although she speaks good English, having been educated in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Ryan surprised fans at an advanced “Deadpool” screening

Ryan surprised fans at an advanced “Deadpool” screening

Ryan made a surprise appearance at a supposedly fan Q&A session for “Deadpool” organized by Vsauce. Fans were promised exclusive scenes from the movie but they were instead treated to the whole movie (lucky folks!). According to People, Ryan told the crowd, “I know we were going to show you guys some footage but … hell, you wanna just see the whole film? Let’s just show you the whole movie!”

Blake was apparently also there and re-posted Ryan’s picture with an arrow pointing to where she was sitting.

@vancityreynolds who’s that babe in the back?! It was my first time seeing @deadpoolmovie tonight– yes, at the surprise screening for the fans, I mean who do I have to sleep with to get into this movie?! Have to say… Best. Movie. Ever. No joke. #??L makin mama proud ?
